I have an ENVY 4520 Printer, and recently re-installed it. The scan function button which used to be on my computer is no longer there, and I cannot initiate or control the scan from my computer, which is Windows 10. I can scan from the printer to the computer, but not vice versa. How do i restore the scan function button, allowing the scan to be controlled from my computer?
Thanks.

Please try HP Scan Extended using the following software
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi
Once it's downloaded and installed, for Windows 10:
(a) Hit Win key,
(b) Scroll down to HP group/folder,
(c) Double click "HP Scan Extended"
You can put a shortcut on Taskbar or Desktop
Regards.

Thanks. I followed your helpful instruction, but got scanner communication can not be established, even though I can scan from the scanner to the computer and I can otherwise scan from the computer by using the Windows fax and scan function. In other words, communication is established between the computer and printer/scanner. Yet, I can't scan using the extended scan function.
