Deskjet 2540 series
macOS 10.13 High Sierra

Hello,

 

I can't use my scanner for deskjet 2540 (ALL IN ONE), everytime I tried to scan something (from my mac, from HP EASY SCAN), it just shows as:

Deskjet 2540 series [FC7F42] is currently unavailable. Please check if it is turned on and connected, or try again later.

 

I

 

tried the printing and copy tool and it works just fine. However, the scanner is always a problem.

 

I am not using a USB and the wireless connection light is always on.

 

Could you please tell me how to fix that?

As I understand, your printer is not scanning, 

No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:

When was the last time it worked fine?

Were there any hardware/software changes made?

Have you tried any troubleshooting steps?

 

Let's try these steps to resolve the issue. Click the link: https://hp.care/2xZXjbZ

Step 1: Confirm if the issue is also printing-related

Step 2: Restart devices and check driver scan settings

Step 3: Check the network and printer connection status

Step 4: Check third-party firewall software settings

Step 5: Remove and re-add the printer'

Step 6: Uninstall the printer driver and software

Step 7: Reinstall the latest scan driver and software

Step 8: Try other scanning solutions

This is the 3rd time I have been told to uninstal and reinstal, welll... ITSTILL DOES NOT RECOGNISE MY SCANNER, I can print but nothing else. Am in town later. £29.99 for a NEW cannon all in one at ASrgos. Give me a reason not to buy that?
