Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

macOS 10.14 Mojave

Scanner reported an error: Software for "%@" failure to run on Mac OS Mohave 10.14.6 system.

I have hesitated to uninstall, then reinstall the HP Utility since the printer still prints; it just will not scan now.

Is there anything else I can try beside unplugging and plugging into another outlet; which have been done?

I reviewed your post and I understand that you are facing issues scanning.

 

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

 

Are you using the HP Easy Scan or Image Capture to scan?

Are you turning on the printer before initiating the scan?

 

Meanwhile, I recommend you update the printer firmware following the steps in the below article and check if it helps.

If you continue facing the issue, then update the Mac OS to the latest version and test.

Prior to your recommended solutions, I did decide to uninstall the HP Utility and then reinstall Easy Scan. I was then able to connect to the scanner and scan documents again. I thank you, however, for taking the time to offer some possible solutions.
