HP LaserJet Pro MFP 3102fdn Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello everyone. Today, I wanted to scan a document with my printer and was shocked by what I saw. In the HP Smart app, I saw the preview and there was a thick black stripe on the left side.

The first scan was with the scanner glass. I then tried the ADF to be on the safe side, but got exactly the same result. I have already cleaned the glass, installed a new update, unplugged the printer and restarted it several times.

Unfortunately, I now suspect that the scanner has broken without having been used (it hasn't been used for about 2 months).

I have attached a picture of what the scan preview looks like.

That is a defective scanner, no cleaning will help.

Okay, so that's what I thought. Is there a replacement part for this printer that I can order and then replace myself? If so, please send me a link to order it.

I would recommend that you contact your local HP authorised service centre regarding that information. Spare parts are model and country specific.

The spare parts list for that model is very limited for public access RM2-3461-000CN should be a part number for a scanner assembly.
