Hi @Flaymax,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

No worries, I’ll make this simple and clear for you! If your HP Smart Tank 7005 scanner isn’t working, here’s a step-by-step guide to get it running:

1. Confirm Basic Setup

  • Make sure the printer is powered on and connected to your Wi-Fi network.
  • Check that your computer or phone is on the same network.

2. Install HP App

3. Test Scan from HP App

  • In the HP app, click Scan.
  • Choose Scan from Printer.
  • Place your document face down on the scanner glass.
  • Tap Scan and check if the preview appears.

4. If Scan Fails

  • Update Printer Firmware
    • In HP app → Printer Settings → Advanced Settings → Firmware Update.
  • Update Drivers
  • Restart your printer and computer.

5. Alternative Scan Method

  • Use Windows Fax and Scan (Windows):
    • Search for “Windows Fax and Scan” → New Scan → Select your HP printer.
  • Or use Image Capture (macOS):
    • Open Image Capture → Select your HP printer → Scan.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
