So when you are at the printer scanner and try to initiate a scan it will not show the computer that it's wired into. However, when using the HP software the computer will connect to the printer and perform the scan. I'm not sure how this makes any sense but I could use some help.

I understand you are not able to scan from the printer control panel. To assist you better, what model printer are you using?

Refer to this document to know how to find the Product Name or Product Number.

Are you using a Win PC or a Mac?
