We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

As stated above cannot scan using the  auto feeder on printer only flatbed will scan. I have seen that others have had the same problem. Did see the following response to the same question but it did not work (see below).

 

Using the Resdiris Pro 12 that came with the printer.

 

The solution below says "Vied Dcanners and cameras" which i believe he meant  "View scanners and cameras". The other thing that came up was  "View devices and printers" .

 

"View scanners and cameras" was already set to Feeder and "View devices and printers"  was set to Flatbed and I changed it to Feeder but it still did not work. Ugh

 

Re: scanner won't scan from document feeder automatically 
 

 

Hi,

Open the control panel and search for "Scanners and cameras", then click Vied dcanners and cameras.

Select the listed device and press Scan Profiles.

 

Edit the listed profiles and ensure its Source is set to Feeder rather than Flatbed.

 

Conirm the changes and check if you may see any difference.

As I understand, you're not able to scan using Automatic Document Feeder,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

 

When was the last time it worked fine?

Were there any hardware/software changes made?

Are you able to make a photocopy using Automatic Document Feeder?

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling printer drivers?

 

Let's try these steps to resolve the issue: 

Root Level Uninstall and Reinstall: 

  • Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP LaserJet printer entries and uninstall them.
  • Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
  • Then press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" and press enter.
  • Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
  • Again, go to run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.

Once completed, try performing a scan using Automatic Document Feeder.

Here are answers to your questions you asked.

 

When was the last time it worked fine?

 

The feeder works fine if you want to copy something  but it does not work when you want to scan something ( had many pages to scan). This is the first time I wanted to scan using the feeder.

 

Were there any hardware/software changes made?

 

This computer use to have Windows 8 and when MS offered Window 10 I upgraded

 

Are you able to make a photocopy using Automatic Document Feeder?

 

Yes.

 

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling printer drivers?

 

No. But you have given me the instructions on how to do. Once I have some time to uninstall/reinstall the drivers, will respond and let you know if it worked or not.

 

I did notice on another post that they had the same problem and had to delete all drivers and start from scratch and reinstall the drivers.  They said they went from Windows 7 to 10.
