If you are having issues with scanning from the document feeder with the HP Smart app you might have to enable web scan feature from your printer web printer setting.  Do the following

  1. Find your printers IP address
  2. Open Browser and type ip address
  3. If prompted type your Printers Pin number (located by ink cartridges area)
  4. Go to settings > Security tab and administration settings.
  5. Enter Pin if prompted and click on Enable webs can for EWS and hit apply.
  6. Run a test print from the web service and it then you try scanning from the smart app again.
  7. From the webservice you can also update drivers if needed.

I am not to sure if this setting was disabled automatically when you connect the printer to webservices but it  shouldnt.

Hope this helps!

Hi @Outofstock4155,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you are experiencing issues with scanning options in HP Smart, there are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the problem.

  • Make sure your scanner is connected to your computer and turned on. If it's a wireless scanner, make sure it's connected to your Wi-Fi network.
  • Check for any updates to HP Smart. If there are any available updates, install them and try scanning again.
  • Restart both your computer and your scanner. Sometimes a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues.
  • Check the settings in HP Smart to make sure the correct scanner is selected. Go to the "Scan" tab and click on "Scanner Settings." Make sure the correct scanner is selected in the "Scanner" drop-down menu.
  • Try resetting HP Smart to its default settings. Go to the "Settings" tab and click on "Advanced Settings." Click on "Reset" and follow the prompts.
  • If none of the above steps work, try uninstalling and reinstalling HP Smart. Make sure to download the latest version from the HP website.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
