I am getting a thick vertical line on my scans and copies.  I used the HP Assistant and looked online for a solution, and I have cleaned everywhere recommended to solve the problem, i.e. the glass the inside of the cover, the rollers, etc., at least 3 times, but the problem is not solved.  I would appreciate any other suggestions.

Hi @Susan501

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Appreciate you trying the steps. This indicates a hardware issue, I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

Have a great day!

Just to be sure, did you clean the skinny glass window at the extreme end of the flatbed?  There usually is a piece of paper stuck in the same place the line is appearing.

If it only appears when using the document feeder, this is normally the culprit!

How thick a line?  Does it resemble the inch-wide one I posted pix of,  with my Nov. 4 request for help?

If so, I have since heard that it may be due to a problem with the bulb in the scanner, and normally would be 'fixed' by simply replacing the unit.  I'm pursuing a warranty claim, in any case; it's been only 14 months since I bought the darn thing -- after using Fujitsus for years, that each lasted for years.

Not happy with the apparent quality.
