My printer/scanner gives me Scanning cancelled from the scanner, I tried all the help tips, removed printer, reinstalled the software, ran HP doctor, checked cables, etc, nothing worked, still the same message pops up. Also tried installing the HP extended scanning app. It does not work either, looks like it is working, the scanner lighted bar is moving, but there is no scanned doc showing on the screen following this process. Any other tips please?

Hi @TatZam,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds frustrating to encounter scanning issues despite trying various troubleshooting steps. Here are a few more suggestions to try.

  • Check Firewall and Security Software: Sometimes security software or firewall settings can interfere with the scanning process. Ensure that your firewall settings allow the HP scanning software to communicate with your printer.
  • Update Scanner Drivers: Make sure that your scanner drivers are up to date. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause scanning issues. Visit the HP website, enter your printer model, and download the latest drivers for both printing and scanning functions.
  • Verify Network Connection: If your printer is connected over a network, ensure that it has a stable connection to your computer. Try restarting both your printer and your computer to refresh the connection.
  • Check for Windows Updates: Sometimes Windows updates can affect printer functionality. Ensure that your operating system is up to date by checking for and installing any available updates.
  • Try a Different Scanning Software: Test with a different scanning software to see if the issue is specific to the HP scanning software.
  • Reset Printer Settings: On your printer's control panel, look for an option to reset to default settings. This can sometimes resolve software-related issues.
  • Inspect Scanner Glass and Feeder: Ensure that the scanner glass is clean and free from smudges or debris. If your printer has an automatic document feeder (ADF), check it for any jams or obstructions.

By systematically going through these steps, you should hopefully be able to identify and resolve the scanning issue with your HP printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
