Scanning directly from AFD scanner rather than flatbed

Hi All,

Does anyone know how you can set HP Laserjet M282's to scan from the AFD as default rather than flatbed directly on the scanner (Not going through the HP Scan app) but physically pressing the scan button on the device.

When selecting the scan option on the MFD button it defaults to the flatbed, I cannot see any option to change this.

I have installed the latest drivers, tried reinstalling, the setting in the HP Scan extended app is set to default to ADF when available. I have also installed the HP scan extended software. It works when I use the HP scan extended software but cannot scan from the AFD scanner as default when physically pressing the scan button.

Hi Ibraheem,

The HP Scan software does not support scanning from the printer front panel, only WSD Discovery of your operating system allow any such and preconfigured to Flatbed Glass.

You may change it to the feeder, but please keep in mind that WSD only offer image scanning, no document file types such as PDF are available for this method, only JPG pictures, and this will result in different file for each page and therefore not recommended.

Setting scanning to a Network Folder or Email will allow scanning documents as PDF too, so will be scanned to a single file.
