Photosmart C6380
macOS 10.12 Sierra

I am getting the following error when wanting to save a scan since upgrading to Sierra.

An error has occurred saving the file because it could not be written to. Check the properties for the file to make sure it is not read-only.

Can you please assist with a fix.

Thanks

Jean-Claude

Hi,

Apoligies for jumping in.

If you may use HP Scan, the HP Scan application is incompatible with Sierra, therefore you may experience issues.
Delete HP Scan by moving it to trash, then empty the trash.

Instead install HP Easy Scan below, it will be installed within the Applications folder:
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Installations/Essentials/hp-easy-scan-1_...

Finally, ensure your drivers are up to date by clicking the Apple icon, select About this Mac and then press Software Update.
Click Store on the top menu bar, click Reload Page, click Update All if any updated are available.

Hello JC1954,

Try changing the location that you're saving the scan to.

It sounds like for some reason where you're trying to save to, you don't have permission to do so.
