My all in one, HP 6560, has stopped scanning.  I only use my phone, so other OS, like Windows, doesn't apply.

Has worked perfectly for years, then just stopped.  Won't let me update printer apps, print report, nothing.  Printer works fine.  Have uninstalled and reinstalled both HO Smart and HP Print service plugins.

Help!  I need to scan in medical docs for upcoming appts!

Are you able to copy? Do you get any error message?

 

Let's try to reset the Printer here:

 

Reset the product

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

Also, try connecting the Printer to a different wall outlet directly.

 

Also, try a firmware update: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c02919168

I tried all the suggestions and still can't scan.  I get "error" messages, and beside the picture of my printer it's says something like "all services not available". 

I can't add firmware from either suggestion viable for Android, no go there too.  I uninstalled and reinstalled HP Smart also.

 

 

Anything else I can try?

Also I am able to do all other printer functions except scan.

I'd suggest to reset the network on your phone and then try to connect it to the Printer and scan.
