Hi @Hupadhyaya22,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If the feeder tray on your HP DeskJet 4275e isn't working while attempting to scan documents on your macOS 15.2, here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot the issue.

Verify Feeder Tray Settings

  • Open HP Smart or your preferred scanning application.
  • Select the Document Feeder option as the input source. It may default to the flatbed scanner, so ensure the feeder tray is selected.

Check for Obstructions

  • Open the feeder tray and inspect it for any paper jams or obstructions.
  • Ensure the paper is aligned correctly in the tray and not too thick, wrinkled, or curled.

Clean the Feeder Rollers

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  • Use a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with water to clean the rollers in the feeder tray.
  • Let the rollers dry completely before turning the printer back on.

Perform a Printer Reset

  1. Turn off your printer and unplug it from the power source.
  2. Wait 60 seconds and plug it back in.
  3. Turn on the printer and check if the feeder tray works for scanning.

Update Printer Firmware and macOS Driver

  • Ensure the printer firmware is up to date using the HP Smart app or the printer's control panel.
  • Update the printer driver for macOS 15.2 by downloading it from the HP Support website.

Test Scanning from Another Application

  • Open Preview on your Mac.
    • Go to File > Import from Scanner > [Your Printer Name].
    • Select Document Feeder as the input source.
  • If this works, the issue might be with the HP Smart application.

Reinstall the Printer on macOS

  1. Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  2. Select your printer and click the - button to remove it.
  3. Re-add the printer by clicking the + button and selecting your device from the list.

Reset the Printer to Factory Settings

  • Reset the printer to its factory settings via the control panel.
  • Reconfigure the printer on your network and test scanning.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
