HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 4302fdw Printer
Linux

I've purchased an MFP 4302fdw last Monday and basically it works fine for me. Now i tried to scan from a Linux (Fedora 39) machine using xsane. In about 2 among 3 cases scanning works, but the other times i press "Preview scan" or "Scan" the MFP 4302fdw dies and displays "A critical system error has occurred. Restart the printer and try again. If the problem persists, contact your support representative. FW Version: 6.17.2.23-202403281608" and under "Details": "Error Code: F0.01.01.02" "Process Name:" "FW Version: 6.17.2.23-202403281608".

In the event log i see furthermore the errors F0.03.05.01 and F0.03.05.02 and the WARNING F0.01.04.00.

I'm not surprised, that an open source program makes mistakes. Nonetheless when a commercial HP product feels operated incorrectly from some software, i'd expect it to return an error instead of crashing.

Any idea, if this will be fixed ?

And btw at least today the support portal is an imposition (never used it before). Trying to add my device i always get after half a minute ++ of waiting the incredibly instructive message "Something went wrong. Try again later".

Followup: After a firmware update, the MFP had pulled and installed about a week ago, the crash seems to happen a bit less often. Not sure, if this is significant. Also i see a different error in the logs:

Error C1.BF.FC.0B 1 repetition. The crash screen is the same and names firmware version 6.17.3.269-202405221647
