Find it a chore how for EVERY scan, the 'pass' gets one third along and pauses for appx 12 seconds - then proceeds to two thirds along and pauses for another 12 seconds - then at last, completes the job
Is this correct please?

Hi
Of course, the tower and laptop are 2 different computers.
Hope that helps!

Hi,
Thanks for using the HP Forums.
Is the printer connected wirelessly? If it is, possible to move the printer nearer to the router? Seems that it's scanning slow and pause because it may be out of range for the router and printer.
Else, try using a USB connection to scan.
Thanks.

Many thanks for suggestion. Printer (wireless) is very close to router=hub, albeit separated/blinded by quite a thick wooden desktop
Printer is new to us and the wireless function is handy to e.g. print things launched by laptop downstairs. Hence reluctant to go USB which I presume is what we term as 'wired'
Don't see how I can improve the pick up (thro the desk) on wireless so I may be lumbered into sticking with it. Does kinda feel like your life draining away though, as you wait ........ and wait some more. Complicated I may say, by usually holding a book at ninety degrees, pressed down on glass top (awkward!)

HI,
"Laptop is downstairs and printer /router is upstairs"?
Try scanning with the laptop nearby (or upstairs) close to the printer.
Does it help?
Thanks.

Apols for confusion. I scan on a tower PC which is right next to hub/router and 'through the wood desk' close to printer. Just happens that the laptop is downstairs but we sometimes send an item to print (upstairs) from that location. Cheers

Hi @colmalk
So is this "Apols for confusion. I scan on a tower PC" the one you used to scan that saw the issue or the laptop downstairs?
For the Tower, if it's near, use a USB connection.
Thanks,

Only scan on tower PC upstairs, close to hub. Only quoted downstairs laptop as we use to print also, thus wish keep it wireless. Don't ever scan on laptop. Looks like you're saying USB for tower to scanner and keep wireless for downstairs laptop. Can I mix & match like that?
