Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

I started having a problem with scanning on my HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M477fdw.  On power up, scanning from the flatbed on the first scan has no issues.  But on the second scan, it will have a strange horizontal bar on the top of the page (see image below where I scanned a blank page).  On the third scan, this horizontal bar moves down lower and on scans after that, the horizontal bar stays at this position until I reboot the printer.  This behavior is consistent every single time.

This problem only happens when scanning from the flatbed.  If I feed in the paper at the top, there is no issue.  I need to scan from the flatbed if I am copying a page from a book.  Plus, scanning from the flatbed tends to avoid having a crooked page.

The problem occurs even when I scan using the LCD display on the printer.  I also used the HP Scan software with the exact same results.

The problem started happening after I moved the printer to another place.  However, I don't have any issues with printing or any other issues with scanning.  Any ideas what could be wrong?  Is the scanner getting misaligned after doing a scan?

It's very likely your scanner is starting to fail.
