HP 5610 all-in-one
Microsoft Windows XP

All,

I have an HP 5610 all-in-one that works and has worked perfectly over all the years I have had it. However, today I am trying to scan some glossy photos that were scanned once before. I have tried using various file extensions like .jpg, .png, .tif, etc., but my finished files are all distorted. The file has super thin lines; that is the only way I can explain it. Here is an image so you can see for yourself:  John Friend.jpg

I think I solved my own problem. I just scanned an original photo and it turned out fine. I believe the problem is when you scan a picture that has already been scanned, you get scanning lines.
