Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Using the HP Smart app I need to go back and forth between my multi-function printer scanner (HP Envy 7155) and my computer.   After the first page I need to go to my computer to add a page to the pdf then back to the scanner to put the next page on and repeat the process.

Some previous products I used allowed me to stay at the scanner.   After a page was completed scanning, I would put the next page on the scanner and hit a button on the scanner to scan.   It did not require going back and forth between the scanner and the computer.

Is there a way to do this with the HP Envy 7155?

Hi @WO17

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thank you for explaining this so clearly.

The HP ENVY 7155 does support multi-page scanning to a single PDF, but the HP Smart app requires interaction from the computer or mobile device between each page when using the flatbed scanner, because it doesn’t offer a built-in “Next Page” button on the printer itself for manual continuation.

Here’s how you can streamline the process as much as possible:

1. Use the HP Smart App’s Multi-Page Scan Feature

  • Open the HP Smart app on your computer.
  • Click Scan > Scanner Glass.
  • After scanning the first page, select “Add Page” in the app.
  • Place the next page on the scanner and click Scan again.
  • Repeat until all pages are scanned, then click “Save” to create a single PDF.

This method works reliably but does require interaction with the app between pages.

HP’s Multi-Page Scan Guide explains this process in detail.

2. Use the HP App (If Available in Your Region)

HP is gradually rolling out a new app that may offer more flexibility than HP Smart. If available for your device:

  • Visit 123.hp.com and search for your printer.
  • If the HP App is listed, install it instead of HP Smart.
  • The HP App may allow batch scanning with fewer interruptions, especially on mobile platforms.

3. Alternative: Use Windows Fax and Scan

This built-in tool allows multi-page scanning with less back-and-forth:

  • Search for Windows Fax and Scan in the Start menu.
  • Select New Scan, choose your printer, and scan each page.
  • After each scan, click “Scan” again to add the next page.
  • Save the entire set as a single PDF using Microsoft Print to PDF.

The ENVY 7155 does not include an ADF, which is why manual page placement is required. If multi-page scanning is a frequent task, a model with an ADF—like the HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e—can scan entire stacks without interruption.

You’ve been incredibly patient, and I understand how disruptive this workflow can be.

Let’s make sure your scanning experience is as smooth and uninterrupted as it should be.
