For scanning multiple pages, my other HP printers (8710s) automatically recognize when pages are inserted into the feeder. I have seen instructional videos for the 8025e that seem to suggest that using the feeder can only be selected/controlled using the HP software on my laptop. Is this true? If so, it's very inconvenient. My 8025e is located a distance from where I often use my laptop. I would rather go to the printer, place my multiple pages in the feeder, then hit scan or at least select on the printer screen that the feeder is the source. Is that possible?

HP Recommended

If you install full feature driver and software on your computer, you can scan to your PC from the printer. 

You load originals in the document feeder, select scan to PC select the PC you want the scan to be sent and the scanned document will be on your PC when you get back to it.
