Scanning not working with Mac OSX Sierra

I an no longer scan to computer since upgrading to MacOS Sierra.  Printing is fine.

When I try and enable scan to computer, i get an error saying I don't have proper software installed.  HP Easy Scan from computer doesn't work either.  Tried reinstalling software and printer.  Nothing works.

Thanks, though the HP Easy Start does not see my printer at all. It sees another HP Printer I have, but not the C7280. That printer worked just fined on El Capitan. It does not work for scanning on MacOS Sierra. As a support rep of HP, have any help?

Just got off a chat with Apple Support.  Suggested I work with HP Support to get "their printer" working.  Seems this is everyone's problem and no one's problem.  No ownership by Apple, for sure.

I've deleted and reinstalled my C7250, but it is recognized only as a printer, not a scanner. Wish I had not done the Sierra update, but I'm stuck.  Please, HP, offer a solution.

As usual... For Apple it's a HP issue and for HP an Apple issue... The issue is Sierra. Before all was fine. However in my opinion the issue is related to iCloud (document folder now in iCloud). And here I would expect HP to take ownership. But it seems they do not care about the discussions held in the HP forum...

I can confirm that scan to computer still works just fine on a MacBook Air that is still running El Capitan and on a desktop running windows 10

That's completely backwards. Who writes the drivers for printers? Apple? No. When Apple comes out with a new OS, it's up to HP to write the driver to make their products continue to work with advances in OS.

I fully agree! it's a HP issue. HP should as a developer be part of the Apple beta testing going forward.

I have an HP Envy 120 and before the Sierra update scanned from the printer using the 'HP Scan' software downloaded from the HP website. After updating to Sierra I could no longer scan like this, but I downloaded the 'HP Easy Scan' software and can now scan again using this from the launchpad.

Scanning from the Computer in my case works fine (with HP Scan nd HP Easy Scan which is available in the App Store).

Scanning to the computer (from the printer) is no longer working since I have installed OS Sierra.

I agree. Apple rightfully referred me to HP.  So where is the driver, HP Support?  Getting close to time to upgrade my printer, and HP isn't looking like a contender anymore.
