I have never been able to get my HP Envy Photo 7855 to scan documents of any kind to my MacBook Air. i keep getting various error messages : the scanner is being used by a remote user
then i get "one or more of the following problems has prevented the scan from being completed:
the connection to the computer has been lost
the scan application on the computer is currently in use
an OCR application is not installed on the computer
But there is no other user, I've checked the computer internet connection, and the only info i can get on OCR is for windows pc
and HP Support is basically useless. virtual assistant doesn't even know what a Mac system is.

Hi @Lindyk52, I'd like to help.
Does the printer print, if you send a print job from Mac?
How is the printer connected, USB or Wireless?
Are you starting a scan from the printer control panel display or using the scan software on Mac?
