macOS 10.15 Catalina

I am trying to scan some old photos in using my MAC.  I can scan documents in using the automatic document feeder by using the scan button on the application but if i try to save or email anything to the iMac (using the scan button on the printer) I have set up from the flatbed I get a message  saying

One or more of the following problems has prevented the scan from being completed:

The connection to the computer has been lost

The scan application on the computer is currently in use

An OCR application is not installed on the computer

but

a.......  i don't think it has as it would let me scan a document using the scan facility on the computer - just not the one from the scanner

b..... no it isn't

c.......possibly not but why would i need it as scanning a photo??

Hello,

Let me inform you that MacOS version 10.15.3 solves the problem found with the HP Easy Scan application and with the Scan to Computer option. MacOS version 10.15.3 is available since January 28, 2020.

Please update the macOS as follows:

  1. Click the Apple menu, then click System Preferences.
  2. Click on Software Update.
  3. Download and install the latest version of macOS 10.15 on 10.15.3.
  4. Try scanning with HP Easy Scan or from the printer control panel with Scan to Computer.

If the issue persists, please
restart the printer, computer, and router for solve this problem.
  1. Turn the printer off, and then wait 10 seconds.
  2. Disconnect the printer power cord from the printer.
  3. Turn off the computer or the device you are trying to print from.
  4. Connect the printer power cord to the printer, and then turn on the printer.
  5. Disconnect the power cord from your wireless router, and then wait 30 seconds.
  6. Reconnect the power cord to the router.
     NOTE:
Wait until internet service is restored. Internet service is interrupted while the router is off.
  7. Wait at least 3 minutes, then turn on the computer.
  8. Try to scan.

Then, please follow the instructions in the HP link-> Network Scanner Connection Error (Mac).

I remain at your disposal in case of need.
