I'm trying to help an old lady down the road with her printer.  Her pc does not work and she just uses her HP printer for copying but cannot do so now, as every time she tries to scan and print it prints out the instructions for loading the paper.  I've tried turning off and disconnecting the plug from the wall, but the problem persists.  It's also now showing an E4 error message, which I understand from going online at my house is a paper jam issue, but when I go back to her house to resolve that the problem with scanning will still be there.

 

Any ideas?

Many thanks for your advice.  I'll give it a go.  Updating/reinstalling the printer software might be difficult, as her pc is not working, but I'll see what I can do.
