I tried scanning a document today and the image that came up showed only thin, multi-coloured vertical lines (see pic below). I tried many times, using JPEG and PDF as scan outputs. I looked at the many similar threads on this forum, and tried both the unplugging solution, and cleaning the flatbed glass. I also updated the firmware, and restarted the printer. However, the problem still persists. I've always been able to scan without problems, though the last time I used the scan function was about 6 months ago. Any suggestions on how to fix this please? Printer was only purchased in March 2018.Scan 2020-3-24 15.27.14.jpg

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to help you with the scanning issue.

 

Appreciate you trying the steps but this looks like a hardware issue, I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

 

If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.
