Scanning to Computer from HP smart App will not use Document feeder. It will say i chose document feeder but when i scan the printer still uses the scanner glass and just scans a "blank" document.

I understand you’re experiencing an issue where the HP Smart App is not using the document feeder when scanning to your computer, even though you’ve selected it.  

Could you please provide the exact printer model number

 

In the meantime, here are a few steps you can try:

  1. Check HP Smart App settings: When selecting the source, ensure “Document Feeder” is chosen before starting the scan. Sometimes the setting resets to “Flatbed” after updates.
  2. Update HP Smart App: Make sure you’re running the latest version of the HP Smart App on your computer. Outdated versions may not properly recognize the feeder.
  3. Printer firmware update: Go to your printer’s control panel or HP’s support website https://support.hp.com/ to check for firmware updates. This can resolve feeder recognition issues.
  4. Test feeder directly: Try scanning directly from the printer’s control panel using the feeder. If it works there, the issue is likely app-related.
  5. Reinstall HP Smart App: If the problem persists, uninstall and reinstall the app to refresh its connection with your printer.
