Well, after three days, countless unsuccessful attempts at trying to find the answer on virtual assistant and Google, 3 failed attempts at trying to reach a real person using the HP Support Phone Number, and even after reaching being forwarded to the printer department only then to reach an automated system to establish a case number and referred back to the virtual assistant, I finally reached a real person on my fifth call and firmly asked that they NOT just forward my call to another automated response.  The, I reached a technical representative in the printer department who was able to help me resolve the issue.

Long Story made Shorter - Providing your Chromebook can print to the printer which also has scanning capabilities, you then type the printer IP Address into your web browser.  When you then see the menu provided, go to the left side of the page and click on "Webscan"  (Important that you do that and NOT click on the Scanning tab at the top of the menu.

ONLY After you click on the left side of the page on "Webscan", you then click on the tab at the bottom right of the page that is labeled "Start Scan".

Once you see the image of the document/photo you are scanning, use a two-fingered tab on your pad which should produce options on how to save the scanned image.  I had to use my Google Drive to successfully save the scanned image, but now it works!

Good Luck!
