Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

Using a desktop approach (using HP Scanner Assistant) scanner works correctly. Scanning from the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 4302fdw Printer MENU panel the scan is cancelled immediately.  Have updated software / firmware but nothing corrects the problem.

If you have not done so,

Try / Consider

Use the Embedded Web Server (EWS) to view, update, configure the Scan to Network setups.

 

For example --

  • Check that the Destination is able to accept the connection type -- For example, older NAS systems might only support SMB1.   All NAS (and other destinations) require read / write access.
  • In all cases, the printer security should be set to support SMB v2 / SMB v3.
  • Check that the options are correct for the destination and that the printer is aware of the EWS Scan job options
  • Run the Quickset through the setup process, checking for errors

 

General Examples

 

Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Section Scan > Scan to Network Folder (Job Defaults)

and

Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Section Quick Sets > Add / Edit / Copy / Delete Quick Set Profile
