Hell- - When I try to scan to a USB on my HP OfficeJet Pro 8710, the printer screen says "insert a USB."  When I insert a USB, the screen says "USB Storage Device in  use."  I've checked the previous postings and the recommendation to power off, insert USB, the power back on doesn't work..

I have a Kingston Data Traveler 100 G3 , 32gb USB Drive.

I have formatted it to FAT using Ubuntu.

I have an HP M227fdw.

When I plug it in I get this error message.

USB Device uses an unsupported file system.

Reformat the drive using a FAT file system.
