Officejet Pro 8710

I am using a Officejet Pro 8710 and scanning to a USB device...  However, when it scans to the device, it formats into a .VFS file which is unreadable.  How do I scan it into a PDF format?

Hello @jmivanco,

Thanks for showing your interest in the HP Forums! I see that when saving the files to a USB Flash Drive, they are being saved as  .VFS file. I would like to help.

I have provided a post by @Lorem_ipsum which should help: Scanned photo in unusable format (*.VFS).

Let me know if those steps worked for you. If they did, that’s awesome! Give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons, that’ll help us and others see that we’ve got the answers! Good Luck!

Thank you for your reply. While the post regarding changing setting in the setup was not applicable to my printer....  I read other people's posts which gave me an idea.

The solution is that there is a folder which is automatically created on my USB drive called HPSCANS...  once you open this folder, the scans have been placed inside of this folder.

Thank you.
