HP Color Laserjet Pro MFP476dw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After the latest Windows update, scanning to my network folder fails, and I can not figure out what causes the problem.

I always scanned to the same network folder, and this used to work alright. Now suddenly it doesn't work anymore.

I have already uninstalled the printer/scanner software, and re-installed it, using the latest version.

The scanner is not able to find the network folder, or my computer, anymore.

I use a wireless network connection. So, I tested this.

BUT: wireless printing still works, only scanning fails.

The computer seems to be unaible to communicate with the scanner (but it CAN communicate to print).

I tried to test:

1) The computer is using the incorrect IP address for the product.

Open the printer properties and click the Ports tab. Verify that the current IP address for the product is selected. The product IP address is listed on the product configuration page.

Test results:

Verify that the current IP address for the product is selected.

--How can I verify that on the Ports-tab? I do not see this anywhere.

Instead, I see that the 'WSD-port' is selected. What does that mean?

* The product IP address is listed on the product configuration page.

Where can I find this 'product configuration page'?

Hi,

Please ensure that SMBv1 is enabled for your computer, the printer require SMBv1 to be enabled to connect to a shared folder.

From the Control Panel select Uninstall a Program, then press on Turn Windows features on or off and check SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support among any of its sub-options, then follow the steps on screen to enable the feature and test the profile for the printer again.

Note: Microsoft has released security update MS17-010 that resolves the SMB version 1 vulnerability used by the WannaCry attack, please ensure it is installed on your computer:

Hi,

Can you also answer my other questions?

1) Where can I find the 'product configuration page'?

2) Where/ how can I verify that yhe current IP address for the product is selected?

"Microsoft has released security update MS17-010 "

I have Automatic Updates turned on for Windows. So, I assume that I got this security update automatically?

HP Recommended

"From the Control Panel select Uninstall a Program, then press on Turn Windows features on or off"

I don't see this option.

I go to the Windows Control Panel on my computer, --> 'Apps'--> and then I see a list of all apps that are installed on my computer. But I do not see 'Turn Windows features on or off'
