Hey there! @Bob510, Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues, with help from the community!
I understand you have scanning issues with your MAC PC.
Don't worry I'll try to help you out.
Did you make any changes to your printer?
Try few steps recommended below.
HP Scan supports scanning features that came your printer model, including editing tools and scanning from the printer control panel. Check that the software is installed or available, then read steps to scan, edit, and save your scanned documents or photos onto your Mac.
Check if HP Scan is installed on the Mac
Check the list of installed applications on the Mac to make sure you have HP Scan.
Open Finder, click Go in the top menu bar, then click Applications.
Double-click the HP folder, then find HP Scan in the list.
If HP Scan is in the list, double-click it to open the application, then continue to the next step.
If HP Scan is not in the list, go to the How do I install HP Scan software or a scan driver FAQ in this document for steps to check if the full feature driver or HP Easy Start is listed for your version of OS X. If available, install the driver, then continue to the next step.
Update the full feature printer software using this link.
