We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

iOS

I have been scanning documents via my iPhone using the HP Smart app without issue until recently.
I have already tried resetting the printer, and reinstalling the app to my iPhone, but to no avail. Instead, all I get each time I try to scan via my iPhone is the message “Feature Unavailable: This feature is not supported by the selected printer. Connect to a different printer to use this feature.”

Interestingly, I can still scan documents when doing so using my iPad. The only difference seems to be that my iPad is still operating with IOS 18.3.1, whereas my iPhone was recently updated to 18.3.2. 
Is this problem I’m now having trying to scan using my iPhone an issue with the latest IOS update or something else I haven’t yet tried?
I use my home broadband network to connect to my HP Color Laserjet Pro MFP M283fdw when using any of my devices.

I see you've been scanning just fine with the HP Smart app on your iPhone, but after updating to iOS 18.3.2, you're getting the "Feature Unavailable" message. The fact that your iPad (still on 18.3.1) is scanning without any issues suggests that the update may be playing a role here.

 

A few things you could try:

 

Check for App Updates – Sometimes, app updates roll out to fix compatibility issues with new iOS versions. Head to the App Store and make sure you’re running the latest version of HP Smart.

 

Reset Network Settings on Your iPhone – Since your iPhone and printer connect via Wi-Fi, resetting network settings might help. Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings (this will remove saved Wi-Fi networks, so you'll need to reconnect afterward).

 

Try a Different Connection Method – Instead of Wi-Fi, you can try scanning using a USB connection or switch to Wi-Fi Direct (check your printer’s control panel for Wi-Fi Direct settings).

 

Re-add the Printer in HP Smart – Open the app, remove the printer, and add it again to see if it reconnects properly.

Since your iPad is working fine, it doesn’t seem like a printer issue, but more of a software compatibility hiccup.
