Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HP ENVY PHOTO 7134 device will not allow scanning from HP SMART.  An error message 'Scanning is currently unavailable' appears.  HP SMART indicates that the device status is 'Ready'. 

The system has operated correctly in the past; the problem might have arisen following the latest Windows 10 update. 

I can scan with the device by using the Windows 10  Scan app. 

Any ideas?

Hello,

A first step, please forget about the printer as follows:

  1. Open the HP Smart application.
  2. Click with the mouse button right on your printer HP ENVY Photo 7100 All-in-One series, then click on Forget this printer.
  3. Click the Forget Printer buttons.
  4. Close the HP Smart application.

Then, please uninstall and reinstall the HP Smart application as follows:

  1. Uninstall the HP Smart application:
    1. Click Start menu, then click Windows PowerShell folder.
    2. Click with the mouse button on Windows PowerShell, then click More, click Run as administrator and on Yes.
  2. Type the following command followed by the Enter key:
    • get-appxpackage *HPPrinterControl* | remove-appxpackage -AllUsers
  3. Download and install HP Smart.
  4. Open the HP Smart application, then Add a printer.
  5. Try to scan.

Thanks for the help Mans.  In the event I did not need to follow the instructions.  I uninstalled the latest Windows 10 updates, reinstalled them and HP SMART  appears to be working normally again. 

Will keep your instructions on file just in case.
