When I select 'SCAN' the computer says 'offline' BUT the printer prints information from computer

I am sorry to hear that your HP printer is displaying as 'offline' when you try to scan, but is still able to print documents, there may be a communication issue between your computer and the scanner. Here are steps to help resolve this issue:

 

Check Network Connection:

  • Ensure that your computer and printer are connected to the same network.
  • Verify that the wireless connection is stable. Move your printer closer to the router if necessary.

Restart Devices:

  • Restart your computer, printer, and router to refresh the connection.

Enable Printer Online:

  • On your computer, go to the Devices and Printers section via the Control Panel.
  • Right-click on your HP printer and select See what's printing.
  • Click on Printer in the menu bar and ensure that "Use Printer Offline" is unchecked.

Update Printer Drivers:

Reconnect Printer to Network:

  • Use the printer control panel to reconnect your printer to the network.
  • For printers with a touchscreen: Open the Wireless or Network menu, then select Wireless Setup Wizard and follow the on-screen instructions.
  • Download and install the latest printer and scanner drivers.
