Hi @TrentonWendell,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're scanning documents with an HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M182nw and they are not being saved to your folder, or you're not seeing an option to save them, there could be a few potential issues or steps you need to check.

  • Check Network Connection: Ensure that your printer is connected to the network properly. You can do this by printing a network configuration page from the printer. Make sure it has a valid IP address and is connected to the same network as your computer.
  • Scan to Folder Setup: Verify that you have set up the scan to folder feature correctly on your printer. To do this, you typically need to access the printer's web interface from a computer and configure the scan to folder settings. Refer to your printer's user manual for detailed instructions.
  • File Destination: Make sure you've selected the correct destination folder for saving scanned documents. When scanning, you should have an option to choose the folder where the scanned files will be saved. Ensure that you've selected the right location.
  • File Format: Check the file format settings when scanning. If you want to scan as PDF, make sure you have selected PDF as the output format. Some printers allow you to choose between PDF, JPEG, and other formats.
  • File Naming: Some printers allow you to set up automatic file naming conventions. Make sure you're not using a naming convention that could be causing the scanned files to be saved with unexpected names or in a different location.
  • Software/Driver Issues: Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers and scanning software installed on your computer. Outdated or incompatible software can cause scanning issues.
  • Scan from Computer: If the scan-to-folder feature is not working, you can also try scanning directly from your computer using the scanning software provided by HP. This way, you can control the scanning process more directly and specify the location where the scanned file should be saved.
  • Check for Error Messages: If there are any error messages or codes displayed on the printer's screen during or after scanning, take note of them. They can provide clues about what might be wrong.
  • Network Permissions: Ensure that you have the necessary permissions to write files to the folder you've selected for scanning. If it's a network folder, make sure your computer has the appropriate access rights.
  • Restart: Sometimes, a simple restart of both the printer and your computer can resolve scanning issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
