Hi @Tom4751,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
Scanning issues on HP printers can happen for several reasons: software, connectivity, or hardware. Let’s troubleshoot step by step:
Steps to Fix Scanning Problems
1. Check Connection
- If using Wi-Fi, ensure the printer and computer are on the same network.
- If using a USB, confirm the cable is securely connected.
2. Restart Devices
- Power off the printer and computer.
- Wait 60 seconds, then restart both.
3. Update HP App or Drivers
- Download the latest HP app: HP App – For HP Printers, Laptops, and Tech Accessories | HP® Official Site
- Or update drivers for your printer:
HP Printer Drivers.
4. Check Scan Settings
- In the HP app or scanning software:
- Ensure the correct source (flatbed or ADF) is selected.
- Verify file format and resolution settings.
5. Update Printer Firmware
- Go to Official HP® Support → Enter your printer model → Download latest firmware.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have an amazing day!
