@Baffled77, Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the HP Envy 6452e.

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution. We hope our assistance has been helpful!

When using your HP ENVY 6452e printer with a Microsoft Surface, your scanned documents are typically saved to a default location on your computer. Here’s how you can find your scans:

Check Default Scanning Locations

  1. Documents Folder:

    • By default, scanned files are often saved in the "Documents" folder under a subfolder named "Scanned Documents" or simply "Scans."
  2. HP Smart App:

    • If you are using the HP Smart app to perform scans, you can usually find the scanned files in the HP Smart app which might have a specific directory set up for saved files.
    • Open the HP Smart app, navigate to the "View & Print" section, where it shows recent scanned documents or images.

Verify Scan Settings

  1. Open HP Smart App:

    • Launch the HP Smart app on your Microsoft Surface. This is a user-friendly app that facilitates scanning, printing, and other functions.
  2. Access Scan Settings:

    • Click on the "Scan" option. Here, you should find an option to view or modify the destination folder for your scans. Verify and adjust if necessary.
  3. Check Scan Notifications:

    • After a scan is completed, the HP Smart app often shows a notification or dialog box indicating where the file has been saved.

Change Scan to Destination (if needed)

  1. Open HP Smart App:

    • Go to the Scan section.
  2. Change Save Location:

    • Before scanning, look for settings or options that allow you to choose or change where you want your scanned files to be saved. Choose a convenient location for easy access.

I hope this helps!

Take care and have an amazing day!
