Product: HP OfficeJet Pro 8024 All-in-One Printer
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The printer was bought for our company office to replace an aged OfficeJet 6600.
One of the uses of our office scanner is to scan in documents then extract text from them to use in other documents - usually for tax declarations.
The documentation says that it can scan to enhanced or searchable PDF which would permit this but unfortunately the HP Smart app, which is gradually becoming usable, does not give this option nor any other form of OCR.

How do I enable searchable PDFs through this printer?

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Support Community.  It is possible through the HP FULL software.

Can you download and install the HP FULL Solution Software for your operating system:

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-officejet-pro-8020-all-in-one-printer-...

 

Once you have downloaded and installed the FULL feature software, you will be able to print and scan.
