I am trying to setup a network folder on an HP Officjet Pro 8610. I am under the EWS page, and I am trying to setup a Scan to Network Folder. Here is the information:

Network Path:\\Nicks-MacBook-Pro.local\Untitled\users\nickanderson\PrintScans

Username: (not sure what to enter in here) my name to get into the computer is Nick Anderson.

Password: Guessing this is my computer password.

When I go to test it out, I am getting an error "Unable to connect to the printer. Check your configuration and try again."

I am connected to my home network. What am I doing wrong?

Hi,

The shared network path should be as following:

\\Nicks-MacBook-Pro.local\PrintScans

If that fails also try using your Mac IP address instead of the computer name, click the Network icon and then Network Preferences to locate its IP (e.g \\10.0.0.5\PrintScans)

The user would be your Mac user indeed, among your Mac password.

If the same persists, go to System Preferences > Sharing > File Sharing. ensure the PrintScans folder is added there with read & write permissions for your user.

Click on Options and ensure that SMB is enabled, as well that your user have SMB enabled in the table below.
