Hi @Vojin1

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're encountering a "Fax hardware is either missing or not seated" message on your HP printer, it typically indicates an issue with the fax hardware or its connection. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:

1. Check Fax Hardware:

  • Ensure that the fax hardware is properly installed. If your printer has a separate fax module, make sure it’s securely seated in the printer.

2. Power Cycle the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for about a minute. Plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes reset the hardware.

3. Inspect Connections:

  • Check the telephone line connection:
    • Make sure the phone line is properly connected to the printer’s LINE port.
    • If using a telephone splitter, ensure it's functioning properly.

4. Reset the Printer:

  • You may need to perform a factory reset:
    • Go to the printer’s control panel, navigate to Settings, and look for an option to restore factory defaults.
    • Note that this will erase any custom settings.

5. Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Visit the HP Support website and check for any firmware updates that may resolve fax-related issues.

6. Reinstall Fax Software:

  • If applicable, check the HP software on your computer for any fax-related settings or updates. Reinstalling the software can sometimes fix configuration issues.

7. Consult the Manual:

  • Refer to the user manual for your specific printer model for detailed instructions on setting up the fax feature and troubleshooting fax issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
