I cannot get the driver to load under sierra. I have problems printing and scanning after I upgraded to Sierra. I removed all the HP Drivers and downloaded the driver from HP which was designated for Maveriks and it loads, but the configure will not complete. Message: Could not apply settings. A critical error occured. Please restart. Please restart the application and try again.
I have tried everything and nothing works.

I did all the steps you provided, which I had done before, and the setup stops at the first step with the message '
A critical error occurred. Please restart the application and try again'. This is what I get every time I try to load the driver.
Please advise.

- Find, and then select the name of your printer from the printer list, and then click “Add” to add your printer.

It works. I had done all these steps on my own before based on what I found on the web. Ther reason I started over again was because I couldn't get the printer to set up properly to print labels and I thought I might have had a corrupted driver. I'll try to do the labels again and if I have problems, I'll come back to the forum. Thanks for the help. You saved me a lot of time.
