Hi, I have the officejet 6950 and the speed of the scanning is painfully slow. We are talking about 10 seconds per page
I scan on the following setting: 200 ppi, auto-colour detect, scan to computer.
Is a scanning time of approx. 10 seconds per page normal? I have reduced the quality to 100 ppi and also to black and white but the outcome is a blurry and sub-standard quality scan.
Is there anyway to increase the speed of scanning pages without compromising the quality?

Hi,
This is normal, this is a consumer all in one and not a professioal scanner...
Please find the printer specifications below:
Scan speed Up to 5 ppm (200 ppi, monochrome), up to 2.8 ppm (200 ppi, colour) (A4)

Up to 2.8 pages per minute would be up to 20 seconds a page...

Thanks but nothing in the manual helps.
I use the feeder and not the glass when scanning. If the speed of the scanner is this slow by design i.e. a mechanical nature of the printer then I will buy a new one but if it is due to software or something then it would be great if anyone has other suggestions.
2 minutes to scan a simple 12 page document is too long.
