Hi @Royer18,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To scan with the HP SmartTank 6000 series, follow these steps.
- Prepare Your Document: Place the document you want to scan face down on the scanner glass or face up in the document feeder, depending on your model.
- Power On: Make sure your HP SmartTank printer is turned on and connected to your computer or network.
- Launch Scanning Software: Open the scanning software on your computer. This could be the software provided by the HP printer scanning application. If you're using a Windows computer, you can typically find scanning software under "All Apps" > "HP" > "Scan."
- Select Scan Settings: Choose your scan settings, such as color mode (color, grayscale, or black & white), resolution, file format (PDF, JPEG, etc.), and destination folder.
- Preview (Optional): Some scanning software allows you to preview the scanned image before saving it. This lets you make adjustments to the scan area or settings if needed.
- Scan: Once you're satisfied with the settings, initiate the scan process. This could be done by clicking a "Scan" button or a similar option in the scanning software.
- Save: After the scan is complete, specify the location where you want to save the scanned document on your computer. You may also have the option to rename the file.
- Finish: Close the scanning software and review the scanned document in the destination folder to ensure it was saved correctly.
If you're unsure about any specific steps or encounter difficulties, refer to the user manual provided with your HP SmartTank 6000 series printer or consult the HP website for detailed instructions and troubleshooting tips.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
