Scan

I loaded the bulk document feeder of my HP Envy 7640 to be scanned as attachments to an email using my network connection to my laptop. Four pages out of eight were scanned when I got a dialog box saying the “connection had been lost.”

 

I tried to cancel the scan job to start over, but apparently I was not able to. Every time I try to scan now I get dialog box saying “the scanner is in use and to wait until that procedure is completed.”

 

I have rebooted my laptop, turned the Envy 7640 off many times, even disconnected it from power when it was off and again when it was on, to no avail. I have tried “scan to computer” as well initiating  the scan from my laptop. I even turned off all the Wi-Fi connections and got the same dialogue box.

 

Any suggestions on how to “clear” the scan job the printer thinks is still in process?
