Hi @User11242024122,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It seems you're encountering multiple issues with the HP OfficeJet Pro 8720 All-in-One Printer on your Surface Pro with an ARM platform. Here's a breakdown of possible solutions for each issue.
Full Print Options Not Available:
- Ensure Correct Drivers: ARM-based platforms (like your Surface Pro) sometimes need specific drivers. Ensure you are downloading the ARM-compatible drivers for the OfficeJet Pro 8720. You can check on the HP website under your printer model's support page for ARM-specific drivers.
- Use Windows Update: Sometimes, Windows will automatically detect the right drivers for your printer. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates.
- Universal Print Driver: HP offers a Universal Print Driver that is designed to work across a wide range of printers. You may want to try this instead of the specific model driver to see if it enables the full print options.
Cannot Download HP Software Properly:
- Check Compatibility: Ensure the software you are downloading is compatible with the ARM architecture. Some HP software packages are only designed for x86 or x64 platforms and might not work as expected on ARM-based devices.
- Use HP Smart App: If the full HP software isn't installing, try the HP Smart App from the Microsoft Store. It’s often more flexible with ARM devices and should allow you to manage your printer settings, including scanning and printing.
Cannot Print in Reverse Order:
- Check Printer Settings: Reverse order printing is usually a setting within the print dialog box. Ensure that you are selecting the correct settings within the application you're printing from (e.g., Word, PDF Reader).
- Use a Different Print Application: If the native print settings do not show the option to print in reverse order, you might need to use a different application or software that supports this feature. For instance, Adobe Acrobat Reader typically has an option for reverse page printing.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
