Dear all,
I just joined this forum, in an attempt to find an answer to the following question:
Is it possible to scan pictures (old b/w photographs, actually) and save them as TIFF files on my computer without LZW compression? The TIFF option in the scanning menu comes without any option and the files that I have saved will have LZW compression.
If I have uncompressed TIFF files, I can open and save them on my PC without them ending up with LZW, so to me it seems that it happens on the scanner side ... is there a way to disable this feature?
NB: it is not about advantages or disadvantages of this kind of compression, it is about clients who have strong opinions on/preferences for uncompressed files 🙂
Thanks for your input - I'm looking forward to learn more!
Hans

Thanks for the Post and Welcome to HP Forums @H56,
Based on your post, I understand that you are looking to scan old photos in tiff format. I would like to help.
You can scan using the HP software installed on the computer and save the scanned file in any format available in the software.
To my knowledge, the printer/software for scanning do not have the option to disable LZW compression.
If you want to refer to the manual for your printer, click here.
Let me know if this helped or reply for further assistance.
