HP Deskjet F2280 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Trying to connect my HP Deskjet F2280 all in one printer scanner to my new laptop. Managed to connect the printer but cannot connect the scanner. Tried to download the drivers from HP website but drivers installation comes up with an error extraction failed and cannot delete output file? Tried numerous times with the same error. Can anyone help? Microsoft say its out of their support requiremets as its not a microsoft issues.

Hi @Ragini1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I understand you are facing a scanning issue with your HP Deskjet F2280 All-In-One Printer. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

To assist better:

  • May I know where did you download the drivers from?
  • Could you please share the screenshot of the error message?
  • When you say you managed to connect the printer - Are you able to print?
  • Which application are you using to scan from the printer?

While you respond to that, you may try to Installing Your Printer Driver Using the Windows Built-in Solution

  • Go to Control Panel - Devices and printers - Click on "Add printer" and follow the on-screen instructions.
  • When the page prompts for the drivers, select "Windows update". The driver list will be updated.
  • Click HP, Hewlett Packard, or Hewlett-Packard in the Manufacturer pane, and then click the name of your printer in the Printers pane.
  • Refer to this document HP printer setup (Windows built-in driver) for help

If the printer is already connected to your PC and if you are able to print fine, then try scanning Using the HP Scan and Capture App

Refer to this document: HP Printers - Using the HP Scan and Capture App (Windows 10, 😎

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
