Hi @Buckyj25,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are trying to install the necessary drivers and software for your HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 All-in-One Printer on macOS 12.0 Monterey, follow these steps:

1. Download the HP Smart App or HP Printer Drivers:

  • HP Smart App (for scanning and printing from your Mac):
    1. Go to the Mac App Store.
    2. Search for HP Smart and install the app.
    3. Once installed, open the app, and follow the on-screen instructions to connect your printer.
    4. You can use this app for scanning and printing directly from your Mac.
  • HP Printer Drivers:
    1. Visit the HP support page for the OfficeJet Pro 8710 printer and enter "HP OfficeJet Pro 8710" in the search bar.
    2. Select your operating system (macOS 12.0 Monterey) from the list of available options.
    3. Download the Full Feature Software and Drivers package.
    4. Open the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions to install the drivers.

2. Set up Scanning:

  • Scan Using HP Smart App: After the HP Smart app is installed, you can scan documents directly from it by selecting the Scan option.
  • Scan Using macOS Preview:
    1. Open Preview on your Mac.
    2. Select File > Import from Scanner (your printer should appear in the list if properly connected).
    3. Select the type of scan you want and scan the document.

3. Check Printer Connection:

Ensure your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Mac for the software to recognize the printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
