Product: HP Envy Pro 6400
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I am trying to scan pages from a book and the HP Smart App keeps telling me to close the lid, which I cannot do with a book under it.
(Actually, it did once when I repeated my request but now will not.)
I have tried covering the book to block light but it still 'knows' the cover is open.
Is there an option that allows me to use the scanner in this manner?

I believe I figured it out.  In the HP Smart App I changed the 'source' from 'Document feeder' to 'Scanner glass'.
That took care of the difficulty.  Phew!
